But I weighed myself last week: 135. I'm not happy about it, but at least I know where I stand.
On the plus side, I've prepared "German" butternut squash salad for tomorrow! Because it's made with butternut squash and sauerkraut, it's quite low calorie while still having quite a bit of bulk. So I'm happy about that.
Today I also made sure to walk for an hour (I know, not much exercise, but still, better than nothing!), so I walked to Barnes & Noble and browsed "Hungry Girl 1-2-3." I really want to try some of her Shirataki noodle recipes, but as a college student, I'm pretty poor, so I haven't shelled out for them yet. We'll see.
So my goal for the next week (I do better with immediate, short-term goals!) is to clock in at under 1,000 cals everyday. Today I succeeded! I was really proud of myself because I turned down both a Krispy Kreme donut from my roommate (which I love ... I'm picky about donuts, but I do love Krispy Kremes) and delicious homemade banana bread from my boyfriend. So I'm happy about that.
I've also set a goal to restrict 70,000 calories, which is 20 pounds. I know i'll need to lose more after that, but as I mentioned above, I do better with smaller goals. So I track my calories and write down everything I eat in a little notebook. And then at the end of the day, I subtract my daily deficit from the 70,000. I just started that yesterday (and yesterday I only had a 200 cal deficit :-( ), and since I stayed under 1,000 today, I have 68,900 to go! It's still a lot, and I have more to go after that, but I feel like I'm finally starting to make progress. Yay!
